Is checking your Facebook becoming a problem?

Facebook, YouTube, Wikipedia, Twitter, Myspace… the list is endless. Millions of us are addicted. The Government tells us that our time wasting internet addictions are costing the country billions of dollars every year. Our productivity at work is dismal because we spend most of the day reading our Fun Wall or checking out our favorite blogs. Can this additive behavior be beaten?

The answer my family and friends is Yes!

How to tell if you are an internet addict
Before we start you need to find out if you are an addict. Once you have admitted to yourself that you are addicted to your favorite website we can go about giving you some solutions for that problem. Here are some surefire signs that you are addicted:

1. You are late for meetings because you are on FacebookIf you ever late for a meeting or an appointment because you were checking your updates on Facebook or watching a related video on Youtube then you know you are addicted. This is classic addict behavior. It is time to get help.

2. You think about it when you are offlineI have several friends who struggle to get to sleep because they are thinking about the latest game or wondering how their website statistics are looking. If you do this then it could be a sign that you are heading towards a problem.

3. Your friends and family comment on your excessive internet useWhen other people around you start to notice that you have a problem it is generally a pretty accurate indicator that you are losing it. If your mates, coworkers or family members have made comments about how much you use the net then you need to read the rest of this post.

4. You check your accounts from your BlackberryA Blackberry is designed as a business tool. It is supposed to allow you to check your important emails and work materials without having to be in the office. It is not for checking Facebook or Myspace updates while you are having dinner with with someone, thats not whats up people, If you use your Blackberry for monitoring your social media accounts then you need help.

5. You get stressed when a Facebook “friend” doesn’t add youHave you ever noticed yourself getting stressed over something that has happened on Facebook or Myspace? Do you ever feel like your online life is more real than your offline life? If you have been stressed about what rapper you turned out as or what magic egg someone sent you then it is time to open your eyes.
Here are some ways that may help you beat your addiction:
1. Admit you have a problem first and foremost.
2. Write down how much time you actually spend on the site.
3. give yourself a set day and time to be on the site
4. turn off your notifications
5. write down what you did before there was a faceboo, youtube, twitter, myspace etc.
6. Block the site completely so you are not able to get on.
I know I have an addiction when it comes to my facebook and yahoo IM I IM two of my friends every single day and I feel as if my day can't go on unless there are logged on to IM so i can chat when needed. I am also logged onto my facebook account every single day, all day long and if I cant be on it from my computer I am logged on from my phone. (shaking my head) yes I know i have a problem, the first step is admitting you have a problem right?
So why is it so important in these days to be social via the internet rather than in person? I first realized how addicted I was on facebook when total strangers come up to me and be like your Evoney right? I am looking at them with a puzzled look like.. yeah... and they realize I don't recognize them and there like from facebook im such and such and im like oh yeah.. ok (shaking my head again) I see it as this , the world is now more technical, electronic this or internet capability that. and so is the way you are in the social aspects but I do agree it is not healthy and I need to be the first to go to Facebook Rehab.
What is your intake on this? Are you addicted to a social networking site?

Oprah Saying Goodbye in 2011

In a Very Special episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show airing today, Winfrey confirms plans to have her very last episode on the very thing that has molded her and helped create her billion dollar enterprise on Sept. 9, 2011.

"I love this show. This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye," Says Oprah.

"Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit. It's the perfect number—the exact right time. So I hope that you will take this 18-month ride with me right through to the final show."

Her decision, she says, came after "prayer and careful thought."
So farewell to the couch-jumping , car-giving, celeb-confessing, book clubbing, weight-watching, housewife-inspiring shows that earned her a bucketload of Emmys and loyal audience of some 42 million viewers each week.

I for one will miss Oprah, I look forward to her shows each day. I have learned alot of self worth watching her show or going online to her blogs and seeing how millions of people are going through what I am going through. So I will cherish these last 18 months we have with miss winfrey.

Love is in the Air

have you ever felt so strongly about someone whenever you think about them its like you can see stars and hearts? Or have this feeling about the person as if you have butterflies in your stomache. Thats where I am at with this guy I am talking to. We have been talking for like 9 months and he makes me feel so good inside. We had a instant connection when meeting eachother I am not gonna lie. I knew he was gonna be different and I knew god brought him into my life for a reason. I had just gotten out of a really bad relationship a year prior to meeting him and I was going on dates with alot of men that didn't have my best interest at heart.

I have fought this feeling for sometime now, telling myself Evoney you haven't known him that long you can't possibly love him but I knew I felt differently about him, I knew no other guy I was coming into contact with made me feel the way I do when I am with him. So what is a girl to do? He's not ready to be in a committed relationship, not that he wouldn't want to be with me but he wants to have his career in order and finances first so he can concentrate on his love life. I myself don't know 100% if I am ready for a relationship, all I know is I need him in my life and I don't want to be without him.

So is it possible for someone to fall in love with someone in such a small amount of time? Do you have to know them completely to know you love them?

To me everything in life happens for a reason and people are in your life for a reason whether its a reason, season or a lifetime. you just have to determine what aspect in your life they are. I am happy with the way things are going now with me and my friend and I just continue to keep going at the pace we are and I will see how things go.

XOXO

Good Compromise vs Bad Compromise

Is compromising just to please your partner a good thing?

What makes for this difference?

A "bad compromise" is changing your habits and self in such a way that you wind up becoming less of your full, authentic, thriving self.

A "good compromise" is changing your habits and self in such a way that you grow more into your most full, authentic, best self

I have experienced the "bad compromise" I was in a relationship where I had to compromise who I was as a person. I loved to dance and my partner did not. so he didnt want me to go out dancing with my girls, so I would always make up excuses on why I wasnt going out yet again on a outing with them just to make him happy. Also I am a people person, I love my friends and I love making new ones as well, so he would get upset when I be on my phone with friends chatting or if I was to see someone out and start talkin to them. so I started barely callin friends and when I did see someone out I would just wave and say hello and keep doing whatver it was we were doing. I was slowly becoming depressed sort of speak, definately not myself and I had to do something about it. Needless to say I ended the relationship. It makes you really think about the things we do in the name of love.

What is a good compromise?

Heres what I think:

When one partner requests the other to attempt to be a little neater or more organized.
When one partner requests the other to take better care of their health and fitness.
When one partner requests the other try to be a more direct communicator and to speak up more often. When one partner requests the other to speak less and listen more.

Have you ever made a compromise to please a partner? Share your thoughts with me.

xoxo
Til next Time.

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for god blessing me with my two wonderful children Kaylaun & Anthoney they are my angels. I am also thankful for my family and friends new and old, I am thankful to be able to provide for me and my boys by putting a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs and food in our mouths. For there are many people are not able to. I enjoy and love the friends and family that are in my life and I pray god continues to bless everyone around me.

Things that make you go hmmmm

Infidelity has been around for decades and will never die down. In life you will go through either being a cheater or being cheated on. I don't know one person that either hasnt been cheated on in some shape or form or has been the one to cheat. should we just live life knowing this happens or is there something we can do about this?

LisaRaye & Rocsi:

There are allegations that Lisaraye's Husband Michael Misick cheated on her with Rocsi from BET's 106 and Park. How true these allegations are.. we don't know. There are photos surfacing of Rocsi and Michael hugged up, its also reported that Rocsi and Lisa Raye's husband are engaged. I don't know how true these rumors are about the engagement but what I do know is that they are loving each others company. LisaRaye and Her husband are seperated but are still legally married. I don't care married is married and they haven't been seperated all that long. Rocsi is dead wrong for this. I just shake my head at her.. I always said she was a lil sneaky lil something and I was right, all the men she could have she goes and picks out LisaRaye's husband. Just a shame!

Looks like bad news for the black eyed peas sensation Fergie:

Reportedly the black eyed peas star Fergie's husband Josh Duhamel who's better known as his star role in the day time soap All My Children as Leo has allegedly cheated on the star with a in my opinion low budget looking stripper. The stripper claims they made love for a really long time that night and they have been "sexting". Josh of course denies these claims but the stripper supposedly took a polygraph test and passed. She was also offered $20,000 to tell her story so what do you think she was gonna do? Do you think He cheated and do you think he should have his own people do a polygraph test?

A Woman's Worth

Women have strengths that amaze men... They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have. But the one thing women forget.. is what they are worth.

This hits home with me. I had always been the type to not let a man get control of me, and what I mean by that is mind control. Whenever things would go wrong I wouldnt allow them to get the best of me I would just leave. Then I fell in love. I was in my past relationship for 5 1/2 years and I loved this man to death. We started off as the best of friends and we could tell eachother anything he always had my back as I did him. I get pregnant and we together mutually agreed to have this child. Thats when things began to become sour in the relationship. Girls would start calling the phone at late hours of the night. He always had his phone attached to him like it was apart of his body. He would lock the phone up so if I did decide to look at it I wouldnt be able to do so. His whole persauna changed. and he went from this happy go lucky guy I fell in love with to this egotistical S.O.B. We would constantly fight. It got to the point where it was beginning to become physical. As all this is going on.. im trying to perceive that I am happy and nothing is wrong to the outside world knowing at home was like living in hell. I was becoming this angry, bitter, sad, depressed being that was not me, and it was taking over me. I would ask myself everyday.. "Evoney why are you dealing with this" everyday I would look in the mirror and couldnt stand who I was becoming and what I was allowing to happen. I finally left and the day I walked out that door it was like the biggest boulder got lifted off my shoulders. I didn't want to continue to stay in a relationship that was toxic to me but also to my children. I didn't want them to see me crying and see how I was being treated, because I didn't want them to grow up and be like that. Gradually I got my confidence back up and was becoming the person I was known to be and that was a high spirited, happy person. I was worth so much more than what I receiving.

I have high expectations now and deserve so much and some. Us women love so hard and fight in what we believe in so much that we often forget exactly what we are worth. We are not going to stand to be disrespected, belittled, degraded, physically, emotionally, and mentally abused. We are going to stand with our heads up high and say I am worth so much more.
